Cute matchbook notebooks

February 5, 2010 by Erin Heaton

I am not sure if this can be legally referred to as a “craft.” It should probably be better described as “cutting paper, then gluing paper.”

I found these little matchbook notebooks in the after-Christmas clearance at Michael’s for 33 cents a pack, but I think I also had a coupon. Anyway, they were really very cheap. So cheap, in fact, I couldn’t even make a notebook with recycled cardboard and paper because my time is worth more than that.

There were a ton of them left because the folksy/country covers were not so cute. Maybe to some people, but not to me.

So I cut pretty scrapbook paper to fit, then glued it on. (This would be perfect for using up scraps of paper leftover from other projects.) See, I told you it was too easy and quick to be called a craft.

Now why didn’t I think of that? Thanks for the great idea – they seem to have loads of these after every season!
