Birthday cupcake chipboard frame

March 3, 2010 by Erin Heaton

Is it too early for a first birthday craft? I mean it is March now. And her birthday is in April. Humor me, here. I’m an excited mama.
As much as I love scrapbook paper, I’m not big into scrapbooking, scrapping or cropping. (They do call it “cropping,” right?) Cute or not, this little gem had a slim to no chance of becoming a scrapbook.
This is what they intend for you to do with the book.

And this is what I did with it. I cut the front and back pages of the book off. (I still have the middle three pages to do something else with.)
Then I cut pieces of scrapbook paper to fit the various elements of the cupcake and used Mod Podge to glue them on.
I plan to replace the photo with something more birthdayish once the time rolls around.
