A couch for the playroom

I want our playroom to be another living space, so a non-negotiable feature of this playroom was seating, preferably a couch.

The big catch? Fitting a couch through the narrow 23″ wide door in Elise’s room and then up a skinny staircase.

My solution? A ready-to-assemble couch. I actually didn’t even know they sold couches this way and I just happened across this one on overstock.com. Our stairway is a complicated path to maneuver, and I didn’t want to risk buying an assembled piece and not being able to fit it up the steps.

It was delivered in two giant boxes, and after carrying all the pieces upstairs, I put it together in about 30 minutes. And it’s a full-size couch at 81″ long!

The color is a true charcoal gray in the daylight, but at night in the artificial light, the color takes on a brownish cast. Either way, I think the color looks pretty great with the carpet.
