Bamboo shades for the upstairs bathroom

October 14, 2010 by Erin Heaton

Last week, I posted about how to shorten woven bamboo shades, but I didn’t show you how they look on the windows of our upstairs bathroom, curtains and all.

I bought these white bamboo shades to replace the dull and dingy almond-colored dated metal mini-blinds in our upstairs bathroom and playroom.

Before

Sorry, I don’t have a great “before” photo with the curtains. I know it should have been obvious, but I just figured out that the best way to take photos of window treatments themselves is at night without any pesky sunlight showing through.

I usually try to take blog photos during the day in natural light, so it was a mental leap to realize I needed to take these after the sun went down.

Before

The before photos don’t quite convey the dinginess, but just trust me on that fact.

Anyway, these new white shades look so much cleaner and don’t draw any attention to themselves, which is exactly what I was going for. Just blending in. All the blinds downstairs are white too and I think that provides some continuity throughout the house.
