Oh deer.

August 27, 2010 by Erin Heaton

Have you ever had one of those weeks where the same themes keep popping up?

It all started on a day with a short naptime. To combat both of our crabbiness, we headed out to the antique mall and found this brass fawn. I scooped her up without a second thought. A bargain at $10, I think. She’s more than a foot tall!

Some people have a weakness for chairs or a certain kind of dishes. Me, I have a weakness for animal figurines.

Then after a visit to my grandma’s house yesterday, I was finally convinced to take this large, slightly scary reindeer Christmas decoration.

It needs a makeover, but I think it could be a cute place to tuck small Christmas gifts after I scrape off the googly eyes and puffball nose and give it a quick paint job.

I have that same wooden deer! I’ve never been terribly fond of it, but my grandpa made it. Can’t wait to see what you do to it.

I think my mom has/had one too. It must have been a popular crafty item.

I love the golden deer! I am currently on a search for a family of deer figurines for my mantle.Oh. And my mom has one of those wooden deer. It reminds me of Christmas!
