1 coaster + 1 coaster = 1 coaster

January 21, 2010 by Erin Heaton

I found these cute felt coasters in the dollar bin at Michael’s, but they were a little flimsy. Also, how is a coaster supposed to protect a table if it has holes in it?

Materials:

Laser cut felt coasters
Cork coasters or flat cork sheets *
(Note: Because these felt coasters are so flimsy, cork on a roll probably won’t work unless flattened ahead of time.)
Hot glue gun
Scissors

Scatter dots of hot glue on the backside of the felt coaster. Work quickly before the glue cools and hardens.

Flip over and press firmly to the cork.

Trim the excess cork.

Quick, easy, cheap. Trifecta!

This is a great idea! I’ve seen those “lacy” coasters before (and loved them), but I didn’t know what to do with them.
