The new couch is here!

April 19, 2011 by Erin Heaton

It’s here and it’s wonderful! And a little bit ahead of schedule! It only took seven weeks (instead of the eight to ten we were promised). After some initial worries about it fitting through the door, it came through without a hitch. Good because I did not have a plan B.

Reason #1 why I love it: it’s not royal blue. Reason #2: it’s long enough that I can lay down completely on it without touching either arm! Our old couch was 86 inches long, but only had 66 inches of seating space. Those rolled arms were huge! This new couch is a mere 79 inches long, but has 70 inches of seating space. That’s right, it’s shorter, but has more seating. Not a big increase (four inches), but with the low arms, two cushion configuration and tight back, it looks super long. In a small room, stuff like that matters.

Those pillows you see came with it, but I was able to pick the fabric. I wanted pillows that coordinated but were not so matchy matchy that they looked like they came with the couch. I’m busy making a few more too.

I love the elephant gray tiny herringbone fabric. It’s a soft and fuzzy microfiber. So perfect for a cozy family room.

Erin that’s too funny- ours just came this afternoon- also ahead of schedule. And the color is just about identical. I’m trying to make sure that the cat doesn’t think it’s a new scratching post for him! Enjoy lounging 🙂

Love the cushions! They definitely don’t look like the hideous matchy match ones that came with our couch!

Cori, that’s funny! Luckily my kitty never really took to scratching furniture. Enjoy lounging, yourself!
