Repainted key plaques

May 6, 2010 by Erin Heaton

I’ve had these key plaques for years. I think they were originally from the clearance rack at Pier 1, but I’m pretty sure I would have liked them even if they hadn’t been so cheap. I like keys!

Before

But I was a little tired of them as they were. I thought I would perk them up with some paint, figuring I could always paint them black again if I didn’t like it.

I gave them a sloppy rustic paint job with some cream and gold paint. I also touched up the more distressed places with some black and applied a coat of clear sealer.

Before

Not a dramatic transformation, but I think they stand out a little more now.
